Unknown to the general public, André Devambez received all the honors during his lifetime and enjoyed a great reputation.

On the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899), the Château de Fontainebleau highlights, through more than fifty works, the particular link of this artist with “the house of centuries”. This exhibition invites you to rediscover the talent of Rosa Bonheur and reveals the Château de Fontainebleau as the place of memory desired by her friend Anna Klumpke.

The general public today knows Jean-Jacques Henner (1829-1905) for his career and his works, now identified and disseminated thanks to the museographic work carried out at the Henner museum, the temporary exhibitions and the publications which have developed over the past twenty years. But behind the artist also hides a man, an individual of the 19th century with his story, his personality and his habits.
